Drava on a Sunday

Today was a nice sunny day so my host mom and I went for a walk along the Drava river. It is only a short distance from our house and makes for a nice outing.

The Drava is a popular area for playing, walking, running and biking. On weekends there are always people out and about.

The Drava river starts in Dobbiaco Italy and flows east through Austria and Slovenia before passing through Croatia. The river forms most of the Croatian-Hungarian border. The river joins the Danube near Osijek.

Lots of people visit the river and feed bread to the swans. You're not supposed to as they want the birds to be dependant and find their own food, but that doesn't stop people. It's nice to see the swans all grouped together though. Here are some pictures of the swans.
River gulls.
Small boats on shore along the Drava.
Tree-tops!
Forested area around the river.

The ground of the forested area around Drava is covered with these lovely spring flowers. Although its forbidden people were out picking bunches of them.
